Current Positions

Business Development Intern/Apprentice (Military Focus)

You aspire to become a business development rock star. Building strong relationships is your forte. You have personality and the gift-of-gab. You want to learn and grow.

MST is seeking an entrepreneurially-minded, revenue-focused, recently discharged military veteran to join our team. You may be in school (intern) or looking to transition from a different career (apprentice). There is a material opportunity to provide MST services for both active-duty and retired members of the armed forces. This includes TAPS (and similar) programs operated at installations throughout the country as well as numerous for-profit and non-profit organizations. Your responsibilities & learnings will include:

  • Utilize actionable marketplace analysis to support key business objectives.
  • Align MST’s unique selling proposition with identifiable client challenges.
  • Make client presentations.
  • Listen with intention to identify solutions
  • Maintain organized records of meetings with stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with operations to support new clients through their onboarding process.
  • Develop an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think outside the box.

Compensation

The successful candidate will be compensated on a commission basis based on contributions to new client relationships. With success, this can evolve into a recurring draw against commission and may ultimately convert to a regular salary. For intern positions, if there are no directly compensatable contributions, a small stipend may be provided at the company’s discretion.

MST is seeking an entrepreneurially-minded, revenue-focused, sales-driven person to join our team. You may be in school (intern) or looking to transition from a different career (apprentice). We continue to expand our learning services to individuals and companies. There is a real opportunity across many industry verticals to upskill/re-skill Excel and PowerPoint for teams, departments, and entire companies. You will learn how to develop an effective sales pitch, customize it for the intended audience, anticipate/prepare for likely responses and move a potential client from opportunity to business relationship.

You have an interest in and/or knowledge of a specific business vertical. This could be healthcare, insurance, legal, media, travel, finance, unions, or something else, It could be a for-profit or non-profit enterprise. You have aspirations to become a business development rock star. You have personality and the gift-of-gab. The desire to learn and grow is strong. Your responsibilities & learnings will include:

Operations Intern

MST is seeking an entrepreneurially-minded, operations-focused student to join our team. We continue to expand our teaching services to individuals and companies. There are specific business processes from customer acquisition, marketing, and pre-session communication to course follow-up and upsell activities. You will be involved in all of these areas. Specific responsibilities & learnings include:

  • Collaborate with business development to develop actionable marketplace analysis.
  • Support protocols with new clients to align their specific needs with MST’s unique deliverables.
  • Learn both the practical and the creative sides of effective marketing.
  • Support instructors as they prepare for and execute the course offerings.
  • Gain practical experience executing the building blocks of a young, growing venture.
  • Develop an entrepreneurial mindset and ability to think outside the box.

Compensation

This intern is an unpaid position but she/he may, at the company’s discretion, receive a small stipend based on contributions to new client relationships.

Additional Information About My Software Tutor

The nature of a startup is one of meaningful discovery and a recognizable degree of uncertainty (aka less structure). These roles are ideal for someone who finds this type of environment challenging & stimulating. You seek diverse exposure as a company is built from the ground up. It is not for someone who wants to be given explicit direction on how to accomplish a task and/or fit into an established hierarchical structure.

  • The company is based in Los Angeles and operates 100% virtual. Slack and Zoom are our primary internal communication tools.
  • Applicants must have access to a computer (Mac or Windows) and high-speed connectivity.
  • Applicants must have a working proficiency with the core programs in Microsoft Office (Excel, PPT, Word).
  • Schedules may not be consistent week to week. They are usually based on the calendar of training sessions and company deliverables. This is consistent with how startups operate.
  • Internships are available to grad and undergrad students.
  • Internship durations of 4+ months are preferred.
  • Interns are not guaranteed a job after participating in this program.
